Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, in his latest bulletin, confirmed that Apple will not delay the launch of the iPhone 16. This confirms that the iPhone 16 will be released in September 2024.
Last week, Mark revealed that the launch of Apple Intelligence features has been postponed to iOS 18.1. This means that these features will not be available when iOS 18 is first released in September.
"Currently, Apple usually releases iPhones in September. However, Apple faces the same puzzle. The core feature of the iPhone 16, Apple Intelligence, will not be ready until October. This time, though, Apple is taking a different step and will not hold back the new hardware until the service is ready. I have been told that the iPhone launch will happen around the same time as last year if we look at the calendar. September 10 is most likely the release date, and users will need to update their new hardware to iOS 18.1 in October to start using Apple Intelligence," said Mark Gurman, on Monday, August 5, 2024, as quoted from 9to5mac.
Currently, Apple Intelligence has been launched in beta version with some initial features, such as Writing Tools and Memory Generation in Photos.
The new Siri interface is also included, although most of the Siri enhancements and ChatGPT integration are not yet available.
Other major features, such as Genmoji and Image Playground, are also not present in the beta version.
iPhone 16 Price Leak
So far, there has been no official price leak for the iPhone 16. However, TechRadar estimates that Apple will maintain a price of around $800 or Rp12,980,800 for the iPhone 16 variant. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro model is expected to be priced at $1,000 or Rp16,226,000, with higher prices for larger storage variants.
